Conditions of delivery
Milled composite engineered flooring, is the ideal selection to produce a beautiful and permanent floor. However, correct specification, handling and storage is essential prior to the installation of the flooring to ensure expectations are fully understood between the customer/purchaser and Greenfields Premium Timbers.
Product requirements and grade descriptions for timber floorings are set out in AS2796.
Milled composite engineered flooring is a stabilised, multi-layered timber flooring, highly resistant to changes occurring within the environment around it.
Storage and Preparation
Protect the timber from moisture during all stages of construction. Avoid exposure to rain, dew or direct sunlight. Keep it away from the ground or newly laid concrete. Repair damage to pack covers immediately. The flooring should be stored inside where it is to be laid, or in a similar environment.
The flooring should only be delivered when the building is fully weatherproofed. The roof should be on, the windows and external doors installed. The exterior cladding finished and wet trades have completed work. Storm water systems must be complete or effectively directed away from the sub-floor.
Provide under floor ventilation to the requirements of the Building Code of Australia
Where conditions are damp and where the potential for additional sub-soil drainage is limited, it is recommended to install a continuous, impervious plastic membrane over the ground.
Floor framing should be solid, level and true, and meet the requirements in accordance with AS1684. Concrete slabs must be dry, sound and level up to, but no greater than 3mm out of level. Timber flooring should not be installed until the concrete slab has a moisture content of less than 5%. This is generally achieved after slabs have cured for approximately 4-6 months.
Acclimatisation
Due to the dimensional stability and superior support mechanisms inherent in the structure of milled composite engineered flooring, no acclimatisation process is needed on site, allowing the flooring to be laid immediately.
No Returns Policy
Greenfields Premium Timbers cannot accept returns of any timber flooring product type or associated product. It is incumbent upon the customer to ensure they have ordered the correct specie and grade of timber flooring, and a proper check of quantities and tallies has been done by the purchaser prior to ordering and before delivery.

All goods/products are at the customer's risk after delivery. Please ensure there is a person present at the delivery site who is authorised to accept delivery. If our delivery sub-contractor arrives but is unable to deliver the goods, the customer is required to pay for the re-load of product and for the next delivery.
Common recommendations of installation
Where the flooring is to be installed on a concrete slab, we always recommend the application of a moisture seal (vapour transmission minimisation barrier) whether the concrete is new or aged. We will always include a suitable moisture seal as required for the project in our quotation to the customer.
If the sub floor surfacing is ply or particleboard sheeting, we recommend a light sand to rough up the platform surface. The adhesive will then bond more effectively. We recommend covering the flooring immediately after the installation is completed. A 3mm/4mm MDF sheeting is sufficient for this purpose, as is rolled cardboard and Corflute sheeting.
Milled composite engineered flooring eliminates the manual installation of additional substrate, as the substrate is already embodied in the engineered structure of the flooring. Engineered flooring should be mass glued (using a 4mm/6mm trowel) to the concrete slab/sheet and rolled with a minimum 60kg roller as the glue cures.
Greenfields Premium Timbers recommends not to begin the installation of timber flooring until other construction activities are complete, and unless the customer/purchaser is satisfied the conditions of delivery have been adhered to, between the delivery date and the start date of installation.
Where installation of product purchased form Greenfields Premium Timbers has been contracted with an installer recommended to the customer by Greenfields Premium Timbers, Greenfields Premium Timbers will not be liable for any aspect of installation of product. The customer is contracted separately with the installer.
Care and Maintenance Recommendations
Be vigilant in keeping your floor boards clean as dust, dirt and sand particles may scratch the surface. Keep your flooring relatively dry, as sitting water/moisture of any description can cause a reaction.
Non-caustic spills are never a problem if lifted and removed quickly. Adhesive felt pads placed on the feet of furniture prevent scratching.
Greenfields Premium Timbers can provide all necessary maintenance, cleaning, servicing and repair items, which also includes anti-slip products.
Our 'No Fuss Solutions' maintenance program has a complete range of 'manufacturer implicit' cleaning and renewing products to enrich your flooring, and preserve the original, natural and fresh look of your timber floor.
